State of the Union… with Speed and Text!

Tonight, I’m sure many of us will be watching the next Presidential State of the Union Address. For those who don’t know, it will be on every major network and news station around 9pm tonight. As the Health Care debate gets more and more dramatic by the day, many suspect a change in direction. Most agree that the shift will be towards the Economy and other issues beyond Health Care. I suspect he’ll tackle everything.

If you are a Politics or News blogger, this is where Redlasso proves some big value. Within moments after the final closing statements of the State of the Union address, the full speech will be available on Redlasso.com, including all of the post news coverage in many of the major markets around the country.

Log in, search the speech by the spoken word, pointing you directly to what he said, and then edit a custom clip of the highlight, grab the embed code, and post it to your blog. The whole process, in just minutes.

About a week ago, when now Senator Scott Brown talked about his daughters being “available”… within minutes of his acceptance speech, the clip was created, posted to a blog, and also available to be found and shared by our other members. Here is the video:

Lastly… how about a text quote to go along side the video post? Remember, that just about every Redlasso TV clip has the Closed Caption content available to you as an extra feature when you log in. Will you need a quote from the clip you just created, or even another segment? It’s all there.

Just look for this section next to the player:

Update: 01/27/10 – 10:42pm EST – By 10:16pm, before the State of the Union is even complete, the first hour of the speech is already available to create clips for your site. See for yourself here.

Redlasso and Wendy Williams

This isn’t the “official” announcement… but we’re very excited to tell you that you will now be able to find some great segments from the Wendy Williams Show on Redlasso.com. This is AWESOME! We love Wendy Williams at Redlasso. We kick it off with a bang. Here is a great clip with Joan Rivers. Now, remember… Joan Rivers was a long running guest host for the Tonight Show, back during the Johnny Carson days. She did not have very nice things to say about Jay Leno! Rivers talks about Leno, Conan, and even a little Heidi Montag. Check it out!

Don’t forget to come back to Redlasso every day to get the Wendy Wiliams highlight of the day!

Crazy Russian Cat Lady

This video is wild. I’ve seen crazy cat videos before but this is just unreal. Watch the cats when she enters the room, they go NUTS – crazy and jumping all over the place. In order to feed them she has to throw out the food like chicken feed. Thankfully, what they don’t show in this clip are the litter boxes.

Skii Bo Ski’s Sketchy Past… A Criminal?

This was the clip generating the most buzz over the weekend, and for all of you Idol fans out there, this is a good one. I admit to watching American Idol and just being blown away by the insanity of this guy… Skii Bo Ski. Yes, that’s what he calls himself. Well, believe it or not, this guy wasn’t the worst singer and the judges actually passed him through to the next round. Then, the fantastic news team at Fox Orlando turned up some dirt on good ‘ol Skii Bo Ski… he’s got quite the criminal past. Check out this clip here:

In other Idol news, Brett Favre bought into the “Pants On The Ground” insanity with this pre-game chant to get the team all fired up. Check it out here!

Redlasso in the OnMedia 100

This is very exciting news for Redlasso! Redlasso has been named one of the Top 100 Private Companies of 2010, specifically in the realm of emerging Digital Media, Marketing, Advertising and PR. Even better, we took the top spot in our category, “Next Generation Search”! This is what we do at Redlasso, providing the user a very unique way to search nearly live broadcast media content, in almost real time, then allowing the user to create their own custom clips of broadcast content to post to their blog or website. It is very exciting for us to be recognized in this space. Thank you to AlwaysOn / On Media!

As a part of this, Redlasso will be speaking on February 2nd at the big event, OnMedia NYC 2010. Here is a description of the event from their website:

“OnMedia NYC is where cutting-edge technology CEOs from the back streets of Silicon Valley meet the global advertising and media establishment. This two-and-a-half-day executive event features CEO presentations and high-level debates on which forces are disrupting user behavior and creating new opportunities in the marketing, branding, advertising, and public relations industries. At OnMedia, our editors will also honor the OnMedia 100 Top Private Companies. Fifty of the top CEOs from the OnMedia 100 will pitch their market strategies to a panel of industry experts in our “CEO Showcase.”"

You can check out more details on the announcement here.

And more details about the convention here.

Ashley Dupre: The Relationship Expert

Searching “Ashley Dupre” on many of the redlasso sources found within the site will deliver no shortage of “hits” and instances where you can create your own clips for your blog. If you searched Fox 5 New York this morning, you would have stumbled on this… a sit down interview with Ashley Dupre, talking about her new role as a Relationship columnist for the New York Post! I would say that her experience will provide an interesting and different point of view on things. You can find this clip posted today on the Huffington Post.

Hailey Glassman Interview on Fox 29 Philadelphia

This interview, for the moment, is flying under the radar, but this is CRAZY! I can’t believe Hailey Glassman is doing this phone interview in the first place. For those who don’t know, this is the ex-girlfriend of Jon Gosselin, the “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ father. Are you serious? She is going to referee a female celebrity boxing event in Philadelphia. So she does the interview to plug this event, and of course, the station goes to try and talk about Jon and Kate, and she dances around that one… well, like a boxer. I gotta hand it to the host Mike Jerrick, he handled it like the pro he is (by the way Mike, we’ve been psyched to have you back in Philly). I can’t believe that she is cashing in on this. Someone is paying her to do this. That’s nuts! Anyway, here is the clip we created on Redlasso:

Woman Kills Intruder on 911 Call

This is a very disturbing clip. Clips of 911 calls are always interesting, and this one is right up there. A woman calls 911 while a man is trying to break into her house. The only thing is, she is standing in the middle of her living room with a shotgun. You can feel the fear as she sits and waits for this person to break-in, telling the operator that she is going to have to kill this man if he breaks the window. Wow. Listen to this:

Bulletproofblog.com talks Redlasso for PR

Blogworld 2009 was awesome, not only because we were so excited to re-launch Redlasso, but also because it was VEGAS and it was FUN! While there, we also talked with the guys at BulletProofBlog, “The Blog on Crisis Communication” and they were kind enough to feature us in “The 6@6, 6 Tools We Found at Blogworld 2009″. This blog post speaks specifically to PR professionals and Marketers. Patrick Kerley says it best:

The size and growth of social media can be imposing to those less familiar with how to use this space to both monitor and engage the online conversation. Luckily, there are members of this digital community who are constantly working on new tools to help everyone from individual bloggers to Fortune 100 companies better listen to, and learn from, the conversations taking place on numerous social media platforms.

Read more here.

This was a great blog post as it sheds light on another part of Redlasso’s offerings that doesn’t get as much attention. Our corporate intelligence platform. Indeed, right now at Redlasso.com you can register for an account and have unprecedented access to broadcast media content to search, clip and share. The content found within is all licensed content that is ready for you to not only clip and post to your blog, but if you are a PR professional, charged with tracking your corporate or brand news coverage, it’s a great place to find that content and post it to your clients site.

In addition to that, we do offer a subscription model for a much deeper corporate intelligence platform that allows for deeper searching on a much wider variety of sources, all for internal b2b use. For information, click here.

Thanks Bulletproof!
